Tru by Hilton Monroe

As a truck driver, getting proper rest in a hotel matters a lot to me. I usually make do with average places, but this one was quiet, clean, and nice. A local Uber driver said she knows people who love staying here, too. I’d recommend it.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were amazing. The beds and pillows were really uncomfortable, though, and we could hear people moving around upstairs. Sounds like my neighbor had a pretty good night 😜

I’d read all the reviews before booking, and some seemed a little off. But the hotel was very clean when we arrived. The rooms aren’t large, though they’re not tiny either. Cheryl and Tim at the front desk were friendly, personable, and helpful with information about town. Tammy helped me get breakfast because I have hand problems, and Kat, the housekeeper, went above and beyond with towels, extra blankets, and a few other things we needed. There’s a nice smoking area behind the building, away from people coming in and out the front. If I travel again, I’ll look for a Tru by Hilton.

The guy at the front desk was helpful and nice, but the room was the smallest I’ve ever stayed in at a hotel. It also wasn’t cleaned very well. There was a Bobby pen in the bottom of the shower, and splatters of something on the walls around the room. I wouldn’t stay again.
