Walton Inn

The Walton Inn is quiet, and I had a wonderful stay. The staff member who cleans works incredibly hard, and I respect that. Room service was respectful and brought what I needed, and there’s a decent laundry room for guests who need to wash clothes. I’d recommend staying here.

They quoted me $480 after tax over the phone, then charged $580 when I got there. I assumed the extra $100 was a deposit, but they refused to return it and gave ridiculous excuses. Then they offered a discount if I stayed longer. The room smelled of cigarettes, and it took a week for the smell to go away. They don’t clean the A.C. filters or spray to kill the smoke smell. This place is a rip-off. Stop treating people like they have money to spare. If I did, this wouldn’t be my first choice.

I called an hour before arriving and was quoted $75 for a room. At check-in, the rate had gone up to $90, plus a deposit. The woman said it was because this was my first stay. I was tired, so I accepted. I’m a truck driver and asked for a smoking room, but they didn’t have one. I checked out around 7:30 am the next morning. The woman said she had to inspect the room before returning my deposit, which was fine. Afterward, she claimed she smelled smoke. I argued for five minutes that I hadn’t smoked in the room and had gone outside every time. She still took half my deposit. I didn’t smoke in her room. Con artists.

Recently remodeled, and my stay was quiet. It’s away from city noise, so the surroundings are peaceful. The place was clean, and there’s free Wi-Fi, laundry with a washer and dryer, plus Coke and snack machines. There aren’t many rooms, maybe around 20, which helps keep things quiet. Great for the price.
