Ruschmeyers #13 - Suite

This review is only about the restaurant. Our appetizers came quickly, but then we waited more than an hour and a half for the entrees. We finally got the manager’s attention, and he checked with the kitchen and promised another five minutes. Half an hour later, we complained again and said we were about to leave. Our food arrived right then, as if by magic. The food wasn’t worth the price, even setting the wait aside. It’s a beautiful restaurant, but very loud even before the DJ started, and it didn’t deliver the good food and service a restaurant should.

Our room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Kat, the General Manager, made the stay special by being warm, attentive, and doing extra to make us feel at home. We really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. We had a fantastic visit and will definitely return.

That patio was a lovely place to unwind, with fire pits, couches, plenty of seats, and a peaceful feel. We used the two complimentary drink coupons there. The property itself was beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was tidy and well kept, with water and popcorn waiting for us. I also liked entering with a door code instead of carrying a key, and the welcome note explained the amenities. The location worked well between the ferry and downtown. The bathroom was cramped. Its door took a lot of effort and noise to open or shut, which made squeezing through annoying. Service had a couple of letdowns too: we were told about a free s’mores kit at check-in, but that night they said they had no firewood or the right supplies. Breakfast was complimentary but underwhelming, and I’d rather they drop it. We enjoyed the stay, though a few basic fixes to service and amenities would help.

The hosts and staff were fantastic, a 10/10 from me. We could walk into town or over to the beaches easily, and the location was really convenient. Our cabin had its own outdoor patio, plus there was a shared area with games and nightly campfires. The food was great too. Had the best time here.
