The location suited us and the price was reasonable, but I expected better. The staff were wonderful. Two gentlemen checked us in, and one had called earlier to make sure I was still coming. They answered questions and were very helpful. In the morning, the young woman assisting me was understanding. I think this family did a great job. The room, except for its fairly new-looking carpet, was DREADFUL. I’d read reviews mentioning dirt and bugs, though I didn’t see any. The faded, old bedspread had several cigarette burns that at first looked like bugs. The sheets were thin, dingy, and worn, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. Bathroom surfaces looked clean, but the floor grout and caulk looked moldy. The towels were dingy, and both washcloths were stained, like they’d been used as cleaning rags. There was no breakfast and no in-room coffee, just coffee in the lobby. The appearance says, “Don’t come back!” To the owners, put some love into the rooms and make them more welcoming.

Because of Ms. Priya, a stressful night turned into a peaceful, positive stay. She treated us with kindness, patience, and attention, and made us feel cared for as people after a really uncomfortable experience, not just as guests. Her customer service deserves recognition, and we’ll definitely return and recommend this hotel to others. Our family was tired and stressed after a horrible stay at the Red Roof Inn in Montgomery, AL, where we encountered roaches and unsafe conditions. We were scrambling to find somewhere clean and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Priya showed compassion, professionalism, and urgency, and went above and beyond to welcome and look after us. She truly saved our family’s trip.

The room was decent for a quick little getaway in a tucked-away spot, and the Jacuzzi was nice until we drained it and black stuff came out of the jets. It definitely seemed like dirty or mold buildup. The cleaning lady was rude and banged on the door like the police. They also never sent my deposit back to my card. Either pay cash or be ready to get played. They need to do better.

The staff were awesome, and we had a quiet, tidy two-night stay while visiting Selma and Montgomery, Alabama. My wife and I would definitely stay here again if we returned to Montgomery.
