I never got the refund I was told was being processed. When I called again on 12/1, the woman was curt and told me to contact Expedia because that's where I'd booked. The trouble started on 11/8/25: I arrived around 10 pm, though the online information said check-in was available until 11. The phone number on the door rang inside, but nobody answered. I waited half an hour and had to find somewhere else to stay late at night. Very frustrating and inconvenient. I called the next morning to request a refund since I couldn't stay and felt it was their fault, and was told it was processing before we hung up.

My daughter had to drive 45 minutes at 10 pm to find another place to stay, and we ended up disputing the charge with the bank. Less than an hour after checking in, she spotted a bedbug and told the front desk. The employee said he wouldn't refund her unless she brought the bug down. I called the manager, who was rude and also insisted on proof before returning her money. Terrible service on top of the bedbug.

The place is a quiet, cozy little spot, and the room felt almost like a studio apartment. It had a king bed, wardrobe, desk, ironing board, smart TV, plenty of lamps and outlets, plus a full kitchen setup: stove, refrigerator, sink with disposal, microwave, and coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom had a roomy area, a full-length mirror, and a large mirror over the sink. The shower had a few settings, and the water got properly hot. Breakfast was a pleasant light spread with coffee, fruit, waffles, pastries, protein bars, cereal, and more. Staff were polite and helpful when I arrived. The room was clean, the housekeeping was careful, and they even brought me a sponge for doing dishes. Even when the property was busy, I saw staff trying to help guests. Renovations were underway as spring got going, but the workers didn't take away from the stay. I found the rates to be the best in town for the amenities and service offered. I came across this place on my way back to Montrose and would happily stop in again.

Before renting a room at a motel, inn, or hotel, I always think you should ask to see it first. Seeing the room tells you more than being told about it. I haven't stayed here myself.
