Harbor House Inn Morro Bay

Getting to the harbor and the nearby cafés and restaurants on foot was easy, and check-in and checkout were both simple. Our room even had a view of the harbor. It was much nicer and more luxurious than I expected from a motel or inn, so the stay exceeded my expectations.

The room was spotless, and the water pressure was great. I’d go for the king room with the fireplace and balcony. It’s close to the harbor, places to eat, and fun things to do, and the price was reasonable. First stay for me, but I’ll be back.

The room was pretty basic, but clean and free of any strange smells. Since we were out most of the time, that suited us fine. The bed was comfortable, and the room temperature was good. You can get extra towels at the front desk office. The corner of two main streets means there can be some noise, but the location puts you within easy walking distance of lots to do. We went in the fall and there were hardly any crowds. Nearby are coffee shops with good food, restaurants, bottle shops, sweet shops, and even a DIY car wash. The staff were friendly and attentive, and when we first looked at places to stay, this was the best deal around. I’d stay here again.

We got a good rate, and I may book here again in summer. There’s a guest laundry and a dog wash. The location makes it easy to walk to downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Embarcadero. Check-in staff were super friendly. The rooms are clean and generously sized, with a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, and table and chairs. Some rooms only have a shower, and ours took a little while to heat up, though the pressure was great. Ask for an upstairs room across from the check-in building for the best views. The upstairs rooms have balconies. The photo shows the sunset from room 215.
