Budget Inn Mount Pleasant

Affordable, clean, and private, with good customer service.

After driving around 22 hours, I just wanted a shower and somewhere to sleep. The place looked fine outside, and the woman in the office was friendly when I paid. But when I opened room 12, I was hit with a wet dog smell. I’m allergic to dogs, so I locked the door, took my shower bag and small suitcase back to the car, and went to ask about another room. I was told there wasn’t one. I asked for a refund because I didn’t want to risk an allergic reaction, and at first the woman said there were no refunds and pointed to a sign. I asked again if there was another room, since I couldn’t sleep there and didn’t want to lose the night’s payment, even though it was a small amount. Eventually she offered a refund that could take three or four business days, and I accepted. Maybe the other rooms are clean and I just got a bad one, but be wary of room 12. I’m giving it two stars because the woman was accommodating in the end, even though she said company policy meant she couldn’t issue a refund herself.

Budget Inn has been a good fit for my travels. When I only need to sleep and get back on the road, I don’t want to pay extra for amenities I won’t use. I’ve always found it clean and organized, with enough staff to make for a comfortable, decent night’s sleep. Thumbs up!

I love this motel. It’s really clean and feels like having your own room at home. The owners are very nice and on top of things. Everything you need is already there, and they’ll bring you what you need before you even ask. I love this place!
