Quality Inn & Suites Mount Pleasant

The breakfast was awful when I went down at 8:00, even though it starts at 7:00. There were dried eggs, burnt sausage, and maybe one bowl each of cereal in the dispensers. There was fresh fruit, but overall it was a negative three out of five. The lobby looks clean and welcoming, but the hallways and upstairs had an atrocious musty smell. The rooms looked clean, yet my body is covered in bedbug bites. As of August 2025, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. This was the worst place I've stayed during my travels from Minneapolis to Alabama and then the Northeast.

Absolutely, positively the worst hotel in Muscatine, maybe in the whole county. The man I had to deal with was shockingly difficult at every turn. He brought up a $100 deposit, refundable at the end of the stay if paid in cash. I reminded him that I'd called an hour earlier, said I was on my way, and negotiated a rate of $65 per night. He hadn't mentioned a deposit then, and only raised this “policy” after we'd spent about 15 minutes exchanging money for the room and keys and were nearly done.

The lobby and room were clean and smelled pleasant. It was worth what I paid, and I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The location was great and the beds were comfortable, though they also made us really itchy. There were bugs in the bathroom light, and breakfast wasn't very good: the sausage gravy was watered down and there were no waffle toppings. We'd booked expecting the pool to be open, but it was closed for remodeling. Around 3:45 AM, someone tried to break into our room, which was pretty scary.
