Hyatt Place Murfreesboro

We've been regular guests once or twice each quarter, and our reservation and room upgrade got off to a rough start. Luke turned things around quickly. He said he'd been on the team about a month, but you wouldn't have guessed that from how well he handled it. He was patient, accommodating, and eager to help, explained everything clearly, and made sure we were taken care of. Great customer service and a great representative of the team. ⭐

There's lots of shopping and food nearby, and the community feels very safe. The bar was an option we liked, though we just missed it. The pool was still closed while temperatures stabilized, but we wouldn't have had time to use it anyway. It was nice to be able to check out before noon. The room exceeded our expectations: very clean, quiet, and comfortable, with plenty of space for two queens and the sofa bed. The bathroom was perfect, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast starts early, so make sure you get there before 9. I was told the staff were very nice and the food was good.

Breakfast was another problem. The dining area was so dirty that I couldn't sit and eat there. There were at least 10-15 open tables, but every one was unclean. Our room also had long white pet hairs in several places, including on the table and desk. I'm not sure what the $100 pet cleaning fee pays for if that's the condition after cleaning. At check-in, I was told there'd be an extra $100 charge for bringing my small pet for one night. I couldn't find this fee in my booking or during the process in the Hyatt app, so I checked again and even tried a mock booking. It still wasn't stated. The staff member said it was in my booking, and the only solution offered was to cancel. Hyatt app support said they couldn't help and would ask the general manager to email me, as I preferred. The general manager called instead and said the fee was on the website, and bringing a pet was a "special request" that I should have called about. I explained that bringing a pet to a pet-friendly hotel isn't a special request, and the nearly $100 charge, almost as much as the room for the night, should have been clearly disclosed before arrival. She repeatedly said it wasn't Hyatt's problem and rudely refused when I asked for a refund. I don't think I'll return to this Hyatt Place in Murfreesboro because of the poor business practices, rude staff, and unclean rooms and common areas.

Room 308 had thoughtful touches that matter to people who travel a lot, like my husband and me. There were two luggage racks, a lighted bathroom mirror, and two hanging racks by the shower. The full ironing board was tucked under the sink, out of the way, and there were more hanging racks around the room. The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the blackout curtains. When we found the body wash container empty, we called downstairs and someone brought a replacement right away and asked if we needed anything else. The lobby was beautifully presented, the hotel had modern decor, and the staff were welcoming. My husband and I travel all over the world, and this Hyatt Place in Murfreesboro, Tennessee is my favorite hotel we've ever stayed in. I've already added it to my favorites and give it five stars.
