The Pavilion Inn

The staff were rude to people coming and going, the breakfast was cold, and the room was dirty and noisy. I won't return. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned when we arrived; at the desk they offered fresh amenities but didn't offer to clean it. Our suite was right under the stairs to the second floor, so it was extremely noisy. When I asked to move, they said it should only be loud for a couple more hours. The rooms are very dated. The in-room jacuzzi had several broken knobs and a big crack in the bottom, and when switched on it sounded like a plane taking off. A plastic bag was covering the smoke detector, which seemed against fire code. This place needs major improvements everywhere. It's possibly the worst hotel I've stayed at.

We got a good price, and they offer a solid hot breakfast, cookies during the day, and a USA Today on weekdays. The wifi worked flawlessly even from the farthest spot from the front desk, averaging 25+ mbps up and down. Rooms have a fridge and microwave, and checkout is at noon. The hotel is dated, but they know what they are and try to make up for it with amenities you don't usually find. The room AC couldn't keep up on one of the hottest days, even though we left it running the whole time. The blankets and comforters could use replacing.

Fine for one night. The front desk person was very attentive at check-in, and breakfast was good, with a nicely dressed person looking after guests. The second-floor room was really noisy: we heard every footstep from the guest above because of squeaky floors and no soundproofing. The old bed needs updating, and the tub needs a serious bleach job, with mold in the grout and on the wall tiles. The hallways smelled of smoke. I guess smoking rooms are on the same floors as non-smoking ones. Cable was fine, but being told there's no ice on the first floor out by the pool was really inconvenient. The morning desk person had her head down on the counter, apparently trying to nap, and looked up when she heard us. Cartoons were on the TV. Management might want to talk to the morning desk staff about appearances. One woman's hair was wet from a shower and hanging straight. Each person could step it up a little to represent the hotel better. A bit of professionalism would go a long way if that's the kind of guest they're trying to reach.

A sharp, broken bed frame cut my foot pretty badly during my stay. The manager still hasn't called me back.
