Courtyard Chicago Naperville

I would not recommend the Courtyard Marriott in Naperville. My room felt outdated, the beds were low and much too soft, and the overall atmosphere didn’t offer the comfort I expect from a Marriott property. The management staff came across as rude and unprofessional, and the experience was deeply disappointing. I’m a professional person of color, and in my experience the managers treated people like me in an unacceptable and openly discriminatory way. I was spoken to disrespectfully and condescendingly, like a child, even though I stayed respectful and thanked them for help they hadn’t provided. Most disturbing, I overheard the front desk manager use a racial slur to refer to me. No paying guest should have to face that. I came away feeling the hotel doesn’t value all its customers equally and goes out of its way to make some guests feel unwelcome. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone traveling alone or with family, for the sake of their comfort, dignity, and peace of mind.

The staff were great, and I appreciate how hard they work, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend Courtyard Marriott Naperville after my business trip. There was a strange smell throughout the hotel, and no microwave in the room, so I had to go down to the lobby to heat food. The TV was outdated and glitched all night. Overall, it was probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at.

It was quiet and felt safe, but the place is old and the TV looked like it was from 2005. They should update it or lower the price. For breakfast, you’ll do better at a Holiday Inn Express. At this cost, it didn’t feel like good value.

The staff were kind and attentive to every detail, and their hard work keeping things clean and comfortable helped us feel at ease on our trip. Our room and the public spaces, including the lounge and fitness center, were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I’d definitely come back.
