Hotel Avery Nashville

By morning, my card showed two Quality Inn charges, then one cancellation, then a third charge, on top of the charges from Home2Suites. The other two Quality Inn charges weren't reversed until later. Here's how that happened: we arrived at 1 a.m., and after five minutes waiting I had to knock on staff doors to get the night clerk, D Patel, to the desk. She said a second payment hadn't gone through, despite the card reader showing approved, and insisted I try again. She wouldn't honor the rate quoted online, either. I couldn't access the confirmation email on my phone, so I offered to check my account and pay again in the morning if needed. She said everything had to be paid then or she wouldn't give us the rooms. I asked her to cancel them and print proof of the cancellation. She doubted the system would allow it, so I suggested a screenshot and said we could leave. After calling her manager and checking again, she still insisted the charge hadn't gone through and asked me to show it on my phone. Eventually she canceled one charge and printed a receipt, and we left. At Home2Suites, we had rooms, complimentary water, and a friendly welcome within five minutes.

We arrived at Quality Inn & Suites, 100 Coley Davis Rd, Nashville, TN around 9:30 PM. After another employee politely offered to show us a room, the front desk woman returned and put her manager on the phone. He was aggressive, talked over us, and backed her without hearing what had happened, then ordered us off the property. Earlier, she hadn't returned our greeting, kept nodding rudely, and wore earbuds while speaking with us. When we asked about the price and mentioned the online rate, she said we could book online but refused to show the room, telling us to leave if we didn't like it because there were other motels nearby. She also refused to give her name or let us speak to a manager, saying she didn't feel like giving us a room. Her conduct and the manager's response showed no customer respect or professionalism. The employee said she was an international student, and the way management handled things raised concerns about training and compliance, regardless of her status. Choice Hotels should investigate this location. Avoid it.

There aren't any vending machines or an ATM, and the concession stand only takes cash. After paying $117 for one night, I couldn't even get bottled water without loading my family into the car to go to a gas station. The hotel itself is clean and nice, but I wouldn't recommend it for families.

The room looked updated and was clean. It started out a little warm, but cooled off quickly. I understand why they don't run the AC all day, since that helps keep costs down. The woman at the front desk was very sweet. Some of the bad reviews must be old, because I found the place pretty nice.
