Courtyard by Marriott Boston Natick

We’ve stayed at the Courtyard often when visiting the area, and it’s one of our usual choices. This time the service from Alyssa and the assistant manager was above and beyond when we ran into challenges. Their care and quick response made such a difference that this will be our choice without considering other places. Top notch. Thank you both, you’re the best.

The biggest issue was the noise from unsupervised kids all weekend. There was a large soccer tournament, with teams on every floor. Kids were running and sitting in the hallways, playing on elevators, kicking balls inside, yelling, and littering, while their parents were busy drinking at the bar. David at the front desk spoke to the room next door and the parents there, and things quieted somewhat, but we still left a day early to get some peace and comfort at home. We came to visit nearby friends and see colleges. Our room for four felt small, and the requested king was smaller than a king, though a bit bigger than a queen. The pullout sofa bed was uncomfortable and needs replacing. Even though the room was booked for four, it wasn’t made up, and we didn’t have enough towels at check-in. Breakfast was included and adequate, with a limited menu rather than a buffet. On the first two mornings, each person could have just one extra small coffee or drink with the meal, and anything more or larger cost extra. On the third day, another person at the register gave us a large coffee without us asking or paying for it. We asked on the first day for the room to be made up or for more towels. When we returned, fresh towels had been piled by the TV, but the dirty towels and garbage were still there. We’ve had better Marriott stays, so this one surprised us.

Darius at the front desk made our stay feel special. He was welcoming and patient at check-in, genuinely kind, and went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed. Every time we had a question, he answered with a smile. He clearly cares about guests and the hotel’s atmosphere. Customer service like that feels rare these days. Thanks, Darius.

The location worked well for my office, so I stayed a couple of nights after trying most of the other hotels nearby. The bed, linens, and couch looked clean and well kept, but the rest of the property feels dated. The room needs a renovation. The furniture shows its age, and there was a noticeable musty, moldy smell from the carpet when I came in. The bathroom also needed more attention, with stray hairs in the tub and on the sink counter. It’s convenient, but the property needs updating to stay competitive.
