Super 8 New Castle

We were in town for a show in Wilmington and stayed one night. It's a budget motel, but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the recently remodeled bathroom was nice. Check-in and checkout were easy, and having a fridge and microwave was handy. Right off I-95, with restaurants and gas stations nearby, plus a quick 15-minute drive to downtown Wilmington.

The front desk host was really nice and check-in was easy. My room was clean, and both the air conditioning and mini fridge worked perfectly. The light breakfast was a bit disappointing, with very few choices and no cream or sugar, but it didn't take away from the stay. Great value for an overnight visit, and I'd stay again.

The price, convenient location, and friendly staff were the best parts of my stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham in New Castle. Inside the room, though, there was a marijuana smell, a loose flooring threshold, and a door that took real force to open and shut. The HVAC was extremely dirty, water pressure was weak, one light was out, and the mini-fridge freezer needed defrosting. There wasn't an iron or ironing board, either. Breakfast was just the bare basics. I'd only suggest it for a night or two if you're a solo male traveler who mainly needs somewhere to sleep and shower and has low expectations. It didn't feel suited to a longer visit or someone looking for comfort and amenities.

The staff were so friendly, and the day shift manager was especially kind. My room was very clean, and the shower felt amazing. The location's great too, with restaurants and shopping close by. I travel through DE every month and plan to stay here on those trips. Thanks, Super 8, see you next month!
