I stayed at the Best Western Queens Court Hotel in Flushing with my 8-year-old during the recent snowstorm, when travel felt unsafe. What we needed to be a safe place in a difficult situation became one of my worst hotel stays. The front desk employee was rude and unprofessional from the start. One night, she tried to charge me $177 directly for a room listed online at about $102. I booked through the platform instead, and she became hostile. The argument continued in the lobby in front of other guests. She spoke about me in a humiliating, inappropriate way, and at one point directed comments to my child instead of addressing me. That was completely unacceptable. I also saw the same staff member handling breakfast items without washing her hands, which raised serious hygiene and food safety concerns. Other reviews suggest I’m not the only guest who has had problems with the staff, which is concerning. I recorded the interaction on my phone, and the lobby security cameras should also show what happened. Guests, especially families traveling with children during an emergency snowstorm, should be treated respectfully and professionally. That wasn’t our experience. Management needs to review how guests are treated here.

Miss Pei L. helped by moving our two rooms onto the same floor, so the kids could go back and forth more easily. Both rooms were very clean and spacious, and the kids loved the large bathtub. We were right in the heart of downtown. For parking, we used Icon 24/7, and the 7 line gets you to Times Square.

My car was only stopped briefly while I picked up a food delivery, and I was delayed by just a few minutes. The owner said I was blocking him from backing out, then deliberately damaged my side mirror. He was extremely rude and aggressive, and I felt he was treating me discriminatorily because I’m Chinese. The blue vehicle in the photo belongs to the hotel owner. This incident says a lot about how he treats people, and the poor reviews seem to have a reason. I’ve already called the police and reported it. Stay away from this place.

The juice machine looked like a health hazard to me. It had the same juice in it for days, and didn’t seem refrigerated since I could see it throughout the day. I had breakfast there twice, and there was no milk, eggs, or sausage, as I’ve found at other BW locations. Apart from a coffee machine, bread, dry cereal, and the pancake machine as the only hot food, there was basically no breakfast. This location has tarnished my view of the Best Western brand.

The owners seem to have made an effort to keep the hotel nice, and I’ve had better stays at other Best Western locations in Japan. Here, though, the experience left us uncomfortable and disappointed. Management should make sure deposit terms are explained ahead of time and train staff to treat guests respectfully. At check-in around 2 PM on December 2, 2025, the receptionist told us about a $200 security deposit that hadn’t been mentioned in the booking or confirmation emails. She asked for cash or our bank account details. We felt uneasy but pressured to share our information, and worried about the safety of our personal and financial data. The receptionist’s manner made matters worse. When I asked about checking in, she replied irritably with “ID, ID” instead of explaining things politely. I told her the tone was inappropriate, but she didn’t apologize. It made the atmosphere tense, as if she didn’t want to be doing the job. Breakfast was disappointing too. There was no bacon, ham, or cheese, and very few choices overall. The pancakes tasted artificial, almost like plastic. The hotel itself was complete and well maintained, but the rude, unprofessional service overshadowed that.
