Chelsea Pines Inn

The beds were so comfortable I slept like a baby, and the rooms were very clean. Staff were super nice, and I loved being able to use the kitchen and courtyard. The location was ideal, close to Racket NYC and with plenty of places to eat nearby. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

I hardly ever review businesses, and this is my first negative one, but I feel I have to say something. During the nor'easter, we badly needed a room and accidentally booked the wrong dates. The hotel couldn't help us at the time, which I can understand, but then they refused to refund the money for the room we booked by mistake. They knew what we were going through and still kept our money. I'm sure the hotel may be nice, but this felt heartless and greedy. Stay away. They don't deserve your money.

The room seemed decent for what I paid, which was $150 total per night. Value depends a lot on the time of year in NYC, but finding reasonably priced accommodation in the Village is hard, so that helps. The staff were super nice.

There's no elevator, just so you know. Otherwise, I had a great time and the staff were wonderful. The bed and pillows were comfy, and both hot water and Wi-Fi worked fine. Breakfast isn't included, but the kitchen has coffee, tea and so on, plus I believe there's a microwave you can use. They offer luggage storage before or after your stay, and I think someone is at reception all the time. Lots of good places to eat are nearby, and the subway is right on the corner.
