Four Points by Sheraton Midtown-Times Square

The Four Points team made our birthday trip feel special. They stored our luggage so we didn’t have to drag it around New York before check-in, and there was a card and a happy birthday banner for my husband in the room. Everyone was pleasant and went above and beyond. The hotel is well located, with easy subway access and Times Square nearby. We loved our choice and felt safe and appreciated.

The room was big enough for us, with walking space and room for our luggage, and the king bed worked fine for a city stay. There was a tub, though not much shelf space for toiletries. Breakfast was tasty and affordable at about $22 per person. Staff were kind and helpful when we had questions, even though we didn’t need them often. The hotel was very affordable and conveniently close to Times Square, the subway, and Port Authority. I only saw one homeless guy across the street, and he left after a few minutes, so it wasn’t an issue for us. A couple of things to know: the automatic AC turning on and off didn’t bother me, but it does make a soft fan-like hum. The single-pane windows let in the sound of cars and people outside day and night. It’s a city that never sleeps, so I wasn’t too bothered. The hotel uses strong fragrances, which could be difficult if heavy smells affect your breathing. You can ask the front desk to have the cleaner skip spraying your room. Housekeeping cleaned daily, and my belongings were all there, but they didn’t replace our used washcloths with fresh ones, so we had to ask each time. There are three elevators for the 32 to 34 floors. They move fairly quickly, though sometimes you wait a few minutes. My longest wait was about 2 to 4 minutes when I called from below ground level; usually it was around a minute.

We had a very good stay, though reviews are subjective. The staff were friendly and keen to answer questions, and Nicole was especially great. The whole team kept a good attitude with all kinds of people. The location is the hotel’s best asset after its people, with easy access to wherever you want to go. The rooms are in good condition, but could use upgrades and renovation. They’re small, as expected, though larger than some nearby hotels. There are only a few rooms on each floor, and elevator noise might bother light sleepers. Street noise is part of being near Times Square, with cars, ambulances, and other traffic. We were so tired after walking all day that we slept like rocks.

The room was spotless, and the lobby smells amazing. Adan & Jackie were so kind while I was there. There’s an ice machine, and you can walk to lots of places from the hotel. I’d definitely recommend booking here.
