Hotel Riu Plaza Manhattan Times Square

The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of choices and energetic, warm staff. I loved seeing them celebrate guests’ birthdays. We’d worried about queues from other reviews, but even at busy times we waited less than 10 minutes for breakfast or elevators. It seems crowd control has improved a lot. The soundproofing was excellent and we slept peacefully. Unlike the nearby Tempo or Renaissance, RIU offers free bottled water, which was a big plus. Front desk staff were incredibly helpful and even checked the back office to get us a high-floor room when we requested one. I stayed at three Times Square hotels on this trip, and RIU was easily the best.

Our Superior Deluxe room had a great view, a large layout, and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were great and had everything we needed. We also had a coffee maker and a small fridge. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the breakfast team. There can be a queue at busy times, but it moved quickly. The food was fresh and replenished fast. We also enjoyed the bar’s happy hour from 4pm to 8pm. The wine was good and cost $6 to $9, a bargain for NYC. We loved our stay at RIU New York Manhattan Times Square.

The hotel was a great base for my first trip to New York. Times Square was a bustling two-minute walk away, most of what we wanted to see was walkable, Ubers were always close, and the subway was about five minutes away. The lobby was lively when we arrived. Every team we met was helpful, from reception and the door staff to breakfast. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a stocked coffee machine and an iron. We were lucky to have a nice view, and it was immaculately tidied by the time we got back each evening. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Times Square, subway stops, and plenty of places to eat, shop, and have a drink are all easy to reach. The room had good storage, a safe, and a mini fridge, and the bed was comfortable. The temperature around the hotel felt just right, never stuffy, and every team member was friendly and professional. My one concern was that the bathroom didn't give much privacy. I'd happily stay here again.
