Ink 48 Hotel

The temperature controls were a real highlight. The AC and heat worked so well that the room cooled or warmed up almost right away. Housekeeping was thoughtful too. We chose not to have the room cleaned while we were there, and they checked in to make sure everything was okay. The staff made check-in quick and easy, and the minibar was a nice touch. We had a drink from it and were fine with the charge. Of the three hotels we stayed at during our week in New York, this was easily our favorite. We only spent 48 hours here and wished we’d booked the full week. It felt like we got our money’s worth and then some. The hotel was lovely, and we’d choose it first if we return. At the restaurant, the host seemed a little rushed, though he wasn’t rude and it didn’t spoil our stay.

The room was spacious, quiet, private and very clean. The separate bathrooms for him and her were a nice touch, as were the bathtub and complimentary robe. We booked through Expedia, and I should’ve looked into Ink 48 more carefully. Expedia said laundry was available, but it wasn’t, and we really needed it. I also felt uncomfortable when the cleaning lady asked my partner and me three times when we planned to leave. Checkout was at 12PM, and I understand hotels need time to clean, but being asked repeatedly made us feel unwelcome and pressured. The stay itself was great, and the room even better.

The hotel views are spectacular. Omar also made our short New York visit feel special. It was my partner’s 30th birthday, and at check-in we got a warm welcome, birthday wishes, and a complimentary upgrade for the occasion. His attention to detail made us feel valued. Fantastic management and service.

Our heater never worked during a spell of extreme cold, despite our reporting the problem several times and an engineer visiting the room. The two extra blankets the hotel sent as compensation weren’t enough for those freezing temperatures. I also wasn’t told clearly at check-in that the $37 facility charge applied each day, on top of the $100 refundable deposit, so the total cost was much higher than expected. After checking out, I emailed the hotel manager, Jessica, and got no reply. The lack of follow-up was disappointing. Given the price and reputation, I expected clearer communication and a room where the basics worked. I stayed at Ink48 from January 24th to January 27th, 2026, and the experience fell short.
