Life Hotel New York

They gave me a king room upgrade because it was available, and it was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was big and had a bathtub. Everything was clean, and the bed was very comfy, a little soft in a way I liked. The staff were kind and helpful too. I appreciated the coffee vouchers, since a coffee in the city can easily cost $8. Thanks, I’ll be back.

The staff were fantastic. Francisco and Emanie were warm, funny, and had great recommendations. We loved the bed, and the shower pressure was just right. Life Hotel was a great fit for everything we wanted to do, thanks to its location in Korea town. We loved our stay!

The restaurant downstairs is AMAZING. Please try the food. The hotel was just OK for us, though, and mostly worked as somewhere to sleep while we spent the day touring. We stayed four nights around Christmas. The rooms were spacious and quiet enough, and the bed was so comfortable I could have slept in it the whole trip. They were reasonably clean, but a bit dusty. It’s an old building, so the room felt cold; there was a heater, but it was too loud to leave running all night. The TV was a smart TV with no channels, and the room amenities were very basic. There was complimentary tea and coffee in the morning, but we only got three vouchers and had to pay for the other mornings. The $100+ tax/service fee at the desk caught me by surprise. I think that should have been made clear during booking. The receptionists were fine, but nothing special, and I’d expected a bit more from a four-star hotel. The lifts were very dim, slow, and took ages to arrive. One morning we also encountered an incredibly rude barista. She was on her phone recording voice notes with earphones in while we waited, barely said hello, and gave us attitude when we asked for tea and coffee.

I stayed at Life Hotel for over a month and would definitely return on my next visit. The location is central, with lots of restaurants nearby, and I felt safe traveling alone. The rooms are spacious compared with many places in NY, the beds are comfortable, and there’s a nice vibe with a restaurant in the lobby. The best part was the staff, from management and sales to reception, housekeeping, and maintenance. They were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful, and made me feel welcome throughout. Special thanks to Chris, Eliana, Mayra, Rick, Russel, Amaury, Francisco, Emanie, and Crystal. Basically everyone, and I hope I didn’t leave anyone out!
