We came to NYC for an event at the Japan Society, and Little Charlie was a convenient place to stay for the night. There are charming spots nearby for eating or grabbing coffee. The lobby felt cozy, with comfortable furniture, lovely aromatherapy, and soft music. Check-in was easy, and the front desk attendant was cheerful. The room was small, and the king bed took up most of it, but it was just right for one night. The shower pressure wasn’t great, the only reason I’d give the room four rather than five. We had a nice stay and would come back.

The lobby’s jazz and diffuser scent give this little hotel a welcoming feel, and the staff are friendly, especially the housekeepers. I keep enjoying my stays here: the bedding is soft and cozy, and service is simple and direct. Hot water wasn’t consistent, which was inconvenient. There’s street noise, plus sounds from housekeeping and nearby doors in the morning, but as a native NYer, that doesn’t bother me much. The rooms are very small, and the breakfast area is limited, with mostly croissants. The almond ones are great, though. Just don’t expect a five-star room or experience.

We spent two nights here for a concert at Madison Square Garden, and the little pod room was cozy, with a king bed tucked by the window and a city view. The place is tiny and quaint in a good way, and our room was clean. Staff were relaxed, water was available, and you need your room key to enter the building after 8pm. The water took a while to heat up. I’m used to outdoor noise, but people walking around woke me more easily, so use the sound machine! As a mom, I’m programmed to hear that 😛

The location was convenient, and the two Queen bed room worked fine despite being small. We needed a place at the last minute because of a snow storm, and the price for two nights was very good. The clerk at check-in was really sweet. Breakfast came with the stay. It wasn’t fancy, but it was quite good. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. A bedroom trash can would’ve been useful, but not having one wasn’t a big deal.

The lobby is a nice place to warm up between city adventures, with complimentary tea, coffee, and pastries. The rooftop is picturesque, and the hotel feels quaint and clean, like a safe little break from the city’s bustle. It’s very close to Grand Central and the subway. The room was small but comfortable. This was my second visit, and this time I brought my youngest for her birthday. Staff kindly kept our luggage safe after checkout so we could explore before catching the train home. I’ll likely stay again.
