Mr. Hector at the front desk turned a rough morning into a comforting stay. After my original hotel cancelled at the last minute, I rushed to book through Agoda that same morning and arrived tired, frustrated, and worried. He kindly arranged early check-in and upgraded me to a room with a sofa, Room 324. The spacious, clean, cozy room was peaceful, and seeing the bathtub was a huge relief after the chaotic start. I really enjoyed my stay and would rate it 4.85/5. Breakfast was simple: bagels, bread, muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea, and orange, apple, and cranberry juices. There weren't any hot dishes like eggs yet, and I hope they consider adding some. Thank you, Mr. Hector. I won't forget how kind you were when I needed it.
The rooms are older, but they were roomy and pleasant, with big windows and a huge bathroom. They also have robes you can use. We slept really well on the comfortable beds and pillows, which is unusual for me in hotels. The location is ideal, close to Times Square, and the street out front isn't hectic when you're waiting for a Lyft. If the weather's bad, you can watch for your ride from a big lobby window. The housekeeping and front desk women were friendly.
The location is great, but the room problems made this an overpriced stay that I wouldn't recommend. At check-in things looked okay, until I noticed none of the four pillows had cases. Later, the shower water drained slowly. I called the front desk, but nobody answered, so I called the Broadway millennium next door, which is connected. The woman there said she'd contact someone and confirmed it was the premier hotel, but nobody came. I mentioned the tub again to the front desk the next day, and she entered a note, but it still wasn't fixed. I came back at 2 a.m. on my last night, so there was no point calling again. I showered in standing water once more. I usually put up a Do Not Disturb sign because I don't need housekeeping, but I came back that day to find the sign inside my room and housekeeping had entered. I paid far too much for this. I probably won't return or recommend it.
The staff were very good, and I'd happily stay again. The rooms are a good size. The breakfast was okay and handy to grab and go. The shower pressure was very poor, and the air conditioning and heating were really loud, though I only needed the heat on briefly, maybe after a shower.
The location is the one good thing. Our room smelled bad and was dirty, with marks on the carpet and bathroom floor that looked like dog paw prints. The included breakfast was a croissant, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and coffee, but there are no tables, so you have to pack it in a paper bag and carry it back upstairs. You could buy the same thing at 7-Eleven. Neither TV in the two rooms we booked worked, the lights stopped working, and the curtains in one room wouldn't open. There's no Times Square view, since the hotel is right in the middle of the street. I've stayed at plenty of four- and five-star hotels, and this felt like one star, nowhere near three or four. There are two properties, Millennium Broadway and Millennium Premier. The Broadway one looked better, so it may be the better place to stay.
