We’d stay here again for the price, location, and clean bed, since those matter most to me. It’s very close to the metro, which was ideal for going into Manhattan, and the front desk was available and receptive to questions. The bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There was a smell of smoke in the halls, the shower kept switching between hot and cold without settling in the middle, and the carpet in our room looked dirty.
On our second night, the toilet overflowed and left the whole room wet, including our luggage and shoes. We asked for help, but nobody fixed it or cleaned up, so we used our towels and had to find clean ones ourselves. Communication was frustrating because almost all the staff didn’t speak good English. Then, on the third night, we noticed bedbugs. We asked to change rooms and were crying while trying to find another hotel in NYC, but last-minute rooms cost a fortune, so we stayed. It was disgusting, and we’re hoping we didn’t bring bedbugs home. That same night, the elevator stopped working, so we climbed seven floors. Our room key then failed, and we had to go back down and up again. The room was supposed to include breakfast, but they don’t even have a restaurant. I’ve never had a worse hotel experience. I’m sure this was a homeless shelter, otherwise I don’t understand why it was so smelly and dirty. Please save your money and never stay here. This experience could ruin your vacation.
The room was dirty, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There were several stains on the bed sheets, pee stains on the bathroom seat, and leftover tissues on the floor. The hotel was supposedly non-smoking according to the front desk, but the cigarette smell lingered in the hotel and made its way into the room. It was humid, sticky summer weather, so we expected the air conditioning to cool the room. Instead, it felt just as humid and sticky inside, and the A/C was weaker than a regular small fan. This is the worst hotel I’ve been to so far.
The price and location were great, it’s close to the train, and the desk staff were friendly. The room was a good size too. It didn’t seem very clean, though: the carpet was stained and there appeared to be mold in the shower. A good deal if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room.
We could smell cigarettes as soon as we entered the room. It was dirty, the sheets were stained, and there were marks all over the walls, including snot. The mirrors were dirty too, and it was clear the place wasn’t cleaned properly. I bought cleaning supplies and wiped everything down myself. I asked for another room, but stayed in the same one because I’d paid for a city view and the other room didn’t have one. When the cleaning ladies came, they had an attitude about changing the sheets. The guy at the front desk was nice, but management needs to do better and make sure staff clean properly. They said most of the rooms are shelter rooms, which still makes no sense.
