A quiet stay, with a clean room, good shower, working AC, and really nice staff. It's a cheap hotel in an old building, so don't expect anything fancy, but things worked and there were some breakfast snacks. For the price, I had a very nice experience. The free shuttle to and from JFK was a bonus, and the driver was very friendly.

The clerk got us a different room quickly, which kept me from giving this one star. When we arrived around midnight, our room wasn't ready: the door was held open with a chair and there was trash on the floor. The lobby carpet was filthy and torn, and the ATM looked like it had been broken for a while. The airport shuttle doesn't run in the evening or before 8 in the morning, and our taxi driver said the location wasn't good. Breakfast was an apple, granola bar, and juice box, only available to take away. That was the best part of the stay. I wouldn't recommend it.
The staff were very nice, and on short notice this was the cheapest hotel I found nearby. It's close to the airport, and the free shuttle was handy for my short stay. I was concerned about highway noise but slept well; the bed was comfortable and the heat and AC worked fine. The shower pressure was good, though the temperature kept swinging from freezing to scalding while I was in there. The small, thin, scratchy towels could use an upgrade. Coffee was free all day and tasty. Breakfast was just a bag with juice, a couple pieces of fresh fruit, and a granola bar, since the kitchen still hadn't reopened after COVID. That was enough for me, and the fresh fruit was nice. There are mostly fast food options nearby, though Tandoor Kitchen has good Indian food. The neighborhood isn't the best. This won't suit everyone, but it worked in a pinch.
The place needs a complete overhaul. The linens looked old and discolored, with very thin, worn sheets and small, rough towels that were supposed to be white. My room also had a yellow armchair covered in stains. When we came in, there was a dirty mop and bucket right beside the tiny check-in area. That was our welcome. It was filthy, and it wasn't even cheap enough to excuse it as getting what you pay for.
Being close to the airport was the only good thing. The room was large but dark and badly in need of an update. I can't really rate breakfast; they shouldn't charge for it. Everything was disposable, and proper plates and cups would've been nice. Some staff were friendly, but others ignored us completely, without even saying good morning. I wouldn't stay again.
