The Bayard Hotel

Our suite had a living room, bedroom, and working kitchen, with enough space for a couple of visiting family members. The staff were kind and attentive, bringing us extra K-cups, a corkscrew, fresh towels, and anything else we asked for. The Bayard is wonderfully placed in Midtown, within walking distance of 30 Rock, Times Square, Empire State, UN Building, Grand Central, and plenty more. It’s a charming, cozy spot right in the middle of everything. There are a few quirks to a small 9 floor building in the city: breakfast gets crowded while everyone waits for their turn at the waffles, the elevator sometimes goes down for a bit, and you can’t control the temperature in your unit. But that’s New York. If you wanted unlimited space and control, you’d have gone to the Dakotas, right?

We had a two bedroom apartment for six of us at the Bayard from 14 Jan 26 to 17 Jan, and it worked brilliantly for our family. The apartment was clean and well stocked, with a kitchen and complimentary snacks, which were especially welcome after our 20 hour flight. It’s in a fantastic location and feels like one of NYC’s hidden gems for apartment style accommodation. We’d definitely recommend it and stay again.

The location was perfect for exploring the city, but the hotel was tucked away in a quiet area without all the hustle and bustle. We had a spacious apartment that was close to everything, and it was just right for our holiday with our 2 kids, aged 8 and 10. The staff were kind, the facilities were very clean, and we’d definitely stay again.

The rooms are spacious, huge by Manhattan standards, and charming, and the location is amazing. I booked the hotel for a client, who ran into a problem during the stay, but the hotel really worked to “make things right” with her. Renovations are still underway, so there were a few minor paint and finishing issues. It’s not a luxury property, but could be a solid choice for a family looking for a relaxed, comfortable stay.
