Quality Inn Newport

As soon as we got into the room, bugs were crawling around the sink and shower. The freezer hadn't been thawed and looked like it had bled, the comforter had yellow stains as if it hadn't been washed in months, and there was a dead cockroach on the TV stand. When we checked out, the receptionist didn't even ask why. This was the worst, most disgusting place, and if I could give it minus ten stars, I would. Avoid the Quality Inn at all costs. The receptionist at the Hotel "Haven" behind it said, "all the motels have roaches they come off the interstate," while wearing a white knot sweatshirt. We went to the Best Western across the street instead, and it had clean rooms and sheets, smelled good, and had a welcoming, professional receptionist. You'll regret wasting your time at this place.

The bed was the one good thing about my room. There wasn't a second curtain for privacy, and the bathroom water never got very hot. The hotel's pictures gave a misleading impression, too. There's no pool or hot tub available, so I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The rooms are great and the staff are good. Of the motels around here, this is the one I'd recommend. I'm disappointed that the pool is closed. It was dirty, but they cleaned it, so I hope they reopen it. Indoor pools ought to stay open year-round.

The light was dim throughout the property, and the hallways and rooms smelled stale. The pool looked unsanitary. We were told at check-in that breakfast had stopped a week earlier, and later we realized they may have been forced to stop serving food. In our first room, there were cockroaches and dead bugs crushed on the comforter, beneath the pillowcases, and on the box spring. A man handed us a new room without saying anything, but it seemed the bugs were throughout the hotel. I felt itchy and couldn't wait to leave for a proper shower. Once home, I checked my clothes for bugs and washed everything, including my purse and luggage. We were also told Choice was no longer associated with this Quality Inn. We travel all the time and have never felt dirtier or stayed somewhere more disgusting. What a terrible, embarrassing experience. Save yourself the trouble and don't book here.
