Wellington Resort

We extended our stay after the first night, and I would come back. The ocean views were gorgeous, the staff were friendly, and parking was easy. Shops, cafes, restaurants, the sailing museum, and the tennis hall of fame were all walkable; the cliff walk and mansions were a 5-10 minute drive. The room felt like a genuine two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, with two balconies and plenty of space. It was a little dated but everything worked. The kitchen was only partial, with no stovetop or oven, so cooking was limited, though there was a high-grade communal kitchen in the clubhouse. The clubhouse also rents CDs, DVDs, and board games. We didn't use the indoor pool. It might be great, but it didn't look as luxurious as the online photos suggested.

We were a party of 16 celebrating our mom's 90th birthday, and the staff helped us organize the trip so thoughtfully. They put all of us in the same lobby/group of units, giving us a private-feeling space together. The suites were roomy, meticulously clean, and well appointed, with lovely views from every room and very comfortable beds. It was an easy walk into town, to restaurants, and to attractions. We couldn't have been happier with the trip or the Wellington.

Our spacious room had a beautiful view, but we left feeling that the stay wasn't great. The pool wasn't very warm, and getting to it meant walking outdoors from the units, which is inconvenient when it's cold and you're wet. The accessible parking spot hadn't been plowed properly, so as a disabled guest we had to park between spaces. We also had no hot water in the tub/shower for our first day and night. Maintenance arrived around 1:30-2am and startled my family, couldn't fix it, and had to bring a supervisor the next day. It was fixed then, but nobody apologized. The shower door bar also fell off, though I managed to put it back. Check-out is earlier than any I've experienced, and a later checkout costs over $100, which is crazy.

We had a great girls' weekend last weekend and would absolutely stay again. The spacious, clean place had a lovely view, a full kitchen, and a dining/living room. Allie was amazing at check-in and gave us great suggestions for breakfast and lunch reservations. We could walk to dinner and the shops, which made the location ideal. Thanks for making the getaway such a blast!
