Windsome Bed & Breakfast

I wouldn't recommend this place. I booked three nights and never saw the owner, and nobody was there to greet me. I ended up in the wrong room without knowing it. The AC rattled loudly all night on the first night. I asked the owner to fix or replace it, and he said he'd do it "after work." When I returned late the second evening, the room was hot and the AC still hadn't been dealt with, so I had to leave it off and sleep with a fan blowing hot air. I asked again, and he sent aggressive texts after realizing I was in the "wrong" room. It was replaced for my third night, and I was glad to leave. After I got home and put my old SIM card back in, there were hostile voicemails too. He'd called the wrong number, though he had managed to text my US number. Breakfast isn't included despite the Bed and Breakfast label. It costs $30 US and isn't cooked. This seemed to be a side hustle for the owner/operator. At these prices, he should greet guests and check that they're comfortable. There was lots of hostility and no hospitality.

My father comes back here every time he visits us from Vermont, and he's a tough critic, so the fact that he's always happy says a lot. He loves the cleanliness, spacious rooms, privacy, friendly owner, easy access to town, and how kind everyone is. We've picked up takeout and spent time hanging out in his room. I don't have interior photos, just one of the beautiful backyard. He's stayed many times and always enjoys returning. I'd give it 12/10 if I could.

For our anniversary, my wife and I wanted a room with a welcoming feel, and the bright decor and open blinds gave us exactly that. It was spacious enough for the two of us, and the Inn owner was friendly with lots of good suggestions for places to visit. The room was ready around 12pm, well before check-in, so we could drop things off and get started on vacation. Since nobody was booked the night we checked out, he said there was no rush. The Inn also has its own off-street parking, which felt safer on a very narrow street with street parking. My only personal quibbles were the very plush mattress, since I sleep on a firm one at home, and the bed height, which was a bit much for my shorter wife. Those might suit someone else just fine. I liked the place and would recommend it.

Patrick was a helpful host, and the breakfast we tried was delicious. My wife prefers checking out local restaurants, so we only ate there once during our three-night stay. Our room was immaculate, beautiful, and up to date, with everything we needed. We're very glad we picked this bed and breakfast.
