Hyatt Place Niagara Falls

The view of Canada and the falls from our room was fantastic, and the hotel was very quiet. Angelo at the front desk was outstanding and entertaining, very personable, and made us feel welcome. We’re in our 70s and first went to the Comfort Inn around the corner. The desk clerk there was dismissive and acted as if we were bothering him. The price was over $200, the parking lot was dangerously dark, and the hotel didn’t look safe, so we left. At the Hyatt, we felt safe, the price was excellent, and the location was really good. Breakfast was the best buffet we’d had since leaving home in Florida days earlier: eggs, bacon, French toast, plenty more to choose from, and delicious spinach quiche. Thanks, Angelo!

The rooms were lovely, the beds so comfortable, and the view was amazing. Warren was kind and accommodating, while Kelsey was attentive and helped me into my wedding dress. They really go above and beyond for their guests. The breakfast bar was amazing too.

The location is probably the best part, and the whole stay turned out to be a great experience despite my worries from the mixed reviews. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had an odd-numbered room, so we could see Canada and the 10pm fireworks from it. Breakfast was fine for a hotel, and Rob did an excellent job. Parking is across the street in a garage, which is annoying, but there’s always plenty of space and the hotel covers the fee. Being able to walk to Niagara Falls or Canada without having to compete for parking or pay enormous amounts made it worthwhile.

The front desk service was great, and the location is nice and close to the falls. But the room feels old and worn for the price. The couch was heavily used and stained, and the pillows smelled like wet dogs. The heating unit was the loudest I’ve ever heard. It wasn’t quite as loud as ball bearings in a blender, but something was clearly wrong with it. The shower area wasn’t really clean either, since the previous guests’ hair elastics were still there. For this price, I’d expect either a lower rate for a dated hotel or a cleaner, more updated room.
