The room was old and in really poor shape, and it wasn’t clean. The bed linen smelled odd, and the system wasn’t working properly. Mold was the biggest problem, especially in the bathroom: I noticed the smell as soon as I entered, and there were black spots on the walls and ceiling. That was unpleasant and felt like a serious health concern. I told the staff, but got little or no response. It seemed they knew about it and weren’t dealing with it.

I couldn’t wait to leave. The neighborhood felt sketchy, with lots of abandoned, boarded up businesses, and this stay changed how I travel. I’ll never let my husband book a place for us again. The room had one harsh overhead light and no lamps, and the only outlets were in the bathroom. The tub had old soap scum, there were random marks on the wall, and a misshapen piece of synthetic fabric hung over the window from cheap hooks. It looked like a hotel run without any money or help. It made me feel sad thinking some people might have to live this way all the time.

We had a pleasant stay and might come back. The location was great, near the main attractions, and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and good furnishings. The bathroom could've been cleaner.

The microwave and heater worked great, but the fridge froze the fruit we put in it overnight. We hadn't put the fruit in the freezer, and the temperature was set to max, so that shouldn't have happened. The room was tiny, and the bathroom was cramped. It had two double beds, a mini fridge/freezer, two chairs and a small table, a TV, a heater/air conditioner, and a coffee machine. There were no tissues, just one toilet paper roll, and no spare blanket if it got cold. At night, the flat, hard pillows and thin, smelly blankets made things worse. Water kept dripping from the ceiling, and the heater buzzed every so often. The walls were so thin we could hear the neighbors. The bedside lamps had no switch or plug. I stayed here with friends at this cheap hotel, and we won't be back. One star.
