The Gorge View Villa-with Yard & Parking

We arrived with our family at midnight and couldn’t get the code they sent us to work. It was freezing outside, and the house looked abandoned. We tried to contact them, but got no answer until around 1:00 pm the next day. We had kids with us and nowhere to go in the middle of the night. This was the worst experience ever. Don’t waste your money on this house at 611 Ashland Avenue. The area felt scary, and the pictures were very misleading.

There were holes in several walls, black ants everywhere, and one upstairs shower was missing the trim ring around the water lever. At first the neighborhood didn’t feel safe, and I don’t think the description gives a clear idea of the distance to the falls. We couldn’t walk there from this house. The stay was okay, but I’d look for somewhere else if I returned to Niagara.

For our large group of relatives, the seven bedrooms and plenty of beds worked well, and the linens, towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and body wash were supplied. The bedrooms had firm mattresses and pillows. The upstairs bathrooms were spacious and modern. Both kitchens were clean and modern, with a microwave, oven, refrigerator, and coffee maker, but no automatic dishwashers. The downstairs bathrooms were modern too, though tight enough that my knees touched the wall on the toilet. One downstairs bedroom has windowpane doors, and curtains would have helped block the living room light. The location and parking were excellent. We could walk to the aquarium, and Niagara Falls was a five-minute drive. The driveway fit three cars. The beds, baths, parking, and location outweighed the downsides. I’d recommend Gorge View Villa for groups of 10-14.

The top two apartments were lovely and well equipped, and the property managers responded quickly. Two mattresses were flat and needed replacing, but they weren’t replaced during our stay, so we received $450.00 back. They did replace a broken couch while we were there. The first-floor apartment wasn’t finished. There was no closet rod, the doors weren’t installed, and there were no towel bars, hooks, or clothing shelves. The toilets were so close to the wall that adults couldn’t use them, with only 8 inches of knee room. The building needs a lot of repairs and is in a poor area, though it was close to a trail leading to the falls.
