Comfort Inn Lexington South

The one thing I missed was an indoor pool. Apart from that, everything was honestly great. We stayed three days, and the staff made the bed, brought fresh towels, and refilled anything we used each day. The room stayed spotless, and breakfast was really good in a clean dining area.

The cleaning crew were polite and helpful, but the bathroom had mold and no exhaust fan. I can only assume the steam over time caused it. The bathroom door wouldn't latch or lock, and the room door latch stuck too. We had to jiggle it shut or it wouldn't catch, and could be pushed open.

I couldn't stay after finding a cockroach crawling out of the TV remote, so I checked out very early that morning. I told the front desk about the roaches and was told my rate would "probably" be adjusted, but that never happened. I hope they address the problem before somebody else gets that room.

The elevators were out for my whole stay, which meant anyone with a handicap had to use the stairs. Those stairwells were filthy and disgusting. The lobby and hallway also had wires hanging from the ceiling, and there were no smoke detectors. The air in my room was awful and hard to breathe, and the HVAC filter looked like it hadn't been changed in months. The room smelled terrible, the bathroom sink was clogged, and nobody came when I asked for maintenance. The carpet was very dirty too. Housekeepers seemed to have eaten most of the so-called continental breakfast. At the desk, the young woman seemed to sleep through much of the time; I had to ring the bell three times to get her attention. Customer service was horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Upper management and corporate should visit and look into these conditions as soon as possible. I think the current manager should be investigated and fired over the service and the state of the building. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give. This hotel doesn't deserve even one.
