The Congress Hotel and Suites Norcross

The lobby and dining area made a strong first impression, and the staff were nice. There's also an extended stay option at good prices. My room was another story: the walls were peeling, sink and shower pressure were weak, and I could hear other people's TVs clearly. Someone left theirs on loud all night, which got annoying. It's a decent hotel, but for just $10 more I feel like Marriott would give me a much better stay. Maybe I'm being picky.

There's a cheap rate, but the place is filthy. Bugs were on the floor, couch, and even the beds, and we killed a cockroach crawling away from the sofa. Flies kept circling the room, and my family members got bitten while sitting on the beds. The hallway was dim and poorly ventilated, had no A/C, and smelled awful. They even had a portable A/C in the lobby. The bathroom knob was broken, so the door wouldn't lock. This is the worst hotel(?) I've ever had the chance of being in. You can see for yourself if you decide to stay, but if you don't like the room, don't touch or use anything and ask for a refund right away. Just don't stay here, even if it's the last place you can book.

The suite rooms are cute, but they need a thorough cleaning. The hallway smells bad too, and when I've been there, it smelled like weed and cigarettes both times. They need more people to clean the hotel and should put on the ace in the hallway so the smell doesn't linger. Please keep the place as fresh as possible.

I only give it a 2 because the toilet and shower worked, and the beds were okay, except for the itchy comforter. The carpet was stained, there was no microwave in the room, and the halls and elevators were hot. At one point I thought we were going to get stuck in the elevator! The 3rd floor seems creepy if you're alone, so we stayed on the 2nd. There was no breakfast this time. I stayed a year ago and it was better then. The room looked cleaner and nicer, the hallways were air conditioned, and last year they had the whole place filled. I don't know what happened, but the place has quickly gone downhill. I honestly WOULDNT RECOMMEND it anymore.
