Econo Lodge Naval Station Norfolk

The location was quiet for me, with a bus stop 20 meters away. I used the bus and Uber almost every day, and there was a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was standard, with plenty of coffee. It was good value for money and met my expectations, so I recommend it. I stayed for a week at the end of October. Arriving early and very tired, I had a smooth arrival and quick check-in. All I wanted was a hot shower and some sleep. The room was tidy and clean at first glance, everything in its place, and the toilet was clean and very white. There were enough towels for my stay, and when I asked for replacements they kindly gave them to me. The lighting was enough for resting, the water was hot with good pressure, the bed was comfortable, and the door was well sealed against outside noise.

The front desk staff were pleasant, and the bed was comfortable, but the room was in awful shape. My socks turned black from the sticky, dirty floor. The toilet rocked, the towel rack was pulling away from the wall, and half the tub's nonskid coating was gone. The lighting indoors and outside was poor, the parking lot had trash, and the AC and heat were hard to adjust. Remodeling isn't an excuse for a room like this. I wouldn't stay again.

We only picked this place because it was near ODU, and I want my money back. The area felt bad, the bathroom was run down, and parts of the ceiling were missing, with what looked like mold up there. The front desk was rude and no help. Then this morning I killed a cockroach in the bathroom. Don't stay here.

It's an older motel, but that doesn't bother me when it's clean, and this place is. Everything's well maintained, too. The staff were really nice and helpful.
