Comfort Inn & Suites Airport Convention Center

I was in town to bury my father, and needed at least a clean, safe place during a painful time. Instead, the stay added stress. The room had roaches, and the bathroom was visibly dirty and hadn’t been cleaned properly before I arrived. The booking site described the hotel as newly renovated, but that was far from what I found. The property looked old, poorly maintained, and in serious need of repairs. The room didn’t match the listing at all. I feel I was misled and that the accommodations fell well below acceptable standards. I’m requesting a full refund and would appreciate a prompt response about how this will be handled.

For $121/night, this was a very nice hotel. The room was spotless and everything worked as it should. Sebastian at the front desk was friendly when I checked out. I’d definitely recommend it.

I arrived at 2am on the 14th, after more than 20 hours of travel, and was told there was no room and no reservation for me. I was frustrated, especially when the woman at the desk first said I’d never asked for it. Then she saw the paper where she’d written down my name and that I’d arrive after midnight. They still said the hotel was sold out, so I got no room. Thankfully, the competitor next door had space. My flights from Baltimore to Charleston had been delayed, so I needed to add Friday, Mar 13th to my reservation for Sat Mar 14th. I called the hotel at 7:30 pm EST on Fri May 13th and asked if they could add the extra night. The woman asked my name to find the reservation, then said it was no problem and she’d add it. I specifically asked, “So I am good for tonight and tomorrow night,” and she said yes. I told her I’d arrive after midnight, and she said she’d make a note. We did stay at this Comfort Inn on the 14th, but it didn’t seem up to the brand’s standards. The waiting area furniture was worn and torn, and the bed mattress was shot, like sleeping in a bowl. I’ll never stay at this location again or recommend it. It was by far the worst Comfort Inn I’ve been to.

The bed and shower were good, but everything else felt old and dingy. The hotel is tired and due for an update. Parking is odd: when its small lot fills up, you have to park in a lot shared with the hotel behind it. Breakfast was average, and the hotel was average at best.
