Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport

Parking was limited and cost $25 a night, but we thought the room quality made the price reasonable overall. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar on site. Our room was lovely and clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast looked good, with cereal, pastries, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, juice, and a small hot bar with sausage and eggs. We’d recommend the place and stay again.

The suite had two thermostats, which made it easier to keep the different rooms comfortable. The decor had a bit of southern charm and reflected several historic cultures. It’s also around the corner from Tanger Outlets, with interstates nearby for quick trips to downtown Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, or North Charleston. At check-in, the desk staff were pleasant, but didn’t point out the elevator or explain the included social hour until I asked about the people eating at tables. It runs from 5 -7 pm. I’d recommend the hotel for a stay in or near Charleston, SC.

We might have stayed again for the convenient location, friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a few breakfast extras like chia pudding and overnight oats alongside the usual hotel fare. The hotel did seem a little dated. But I’m changing my mind: we could smell people smoking weed in the rooms, and it drifted into the hallway. Absolutely disgusting. We wouldn’t return.

The Wednesday social meal was surprisingly substantial and really good. Breakfast was the usual hot spread, with some effort to vary the options, and we had no complaints. Our room was average in size but not cramped, the beds were comfortable, and housekeeping had done a better job than I expected. The team looked professional and were polite. We did run into a major issue, but it was fixed quickly and handled professionally from start to finish. Everyone was on top of it. I’d have tipped them all if I could afford to. After checking reviews across sites before booking, I was impressed by this Hilton Homewood Suites. I’d recommend it and come back. It was worth it. I don’t drink, so I can’t speak to that part of the social hour.
