Stay Express Inn North Charleston

The online description didn’t match what we found. Water was on the floor by the mini fridge, and the AC barely worked. It felt like a run-down place in a rough area, so I wouldn’t recommend renting here.

I only stayed because I was in town for a wedding and couldn’t find another room. This was easily the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Calling it a dump doesn’t cover it. If I’d had another option, there’s no way I would’ve stayed.

A comfortable weekend stay, with great service and a really nice staff.

At this room price, I could find a motel that at least mops the floors. I kept my shoes on the whole time because the floor was so filthy that the bottoms of my feet went pitch black. My socks got so dirty I had to throw a pair away. It looked like nobody had swept or mopped properly in years. The bed lamp didn’t work, and the shower setup wouldn’t switch properly. Water still came from the faucet while I showered, at a pressure that hurt against my skin. The hot water was dangerously hot, enough to burn my finger. I’m an adult, so I kept thinking about what could happen if a child tried to use it. There was water damage and possible mold above the shower head, and the sink handle was barely attached while putting out that same dangerously hot water. A housekeeper once pushed at my room door while I was changing, without knocking. Luckily, I had the metal latch engaged, so they couldn’t get in, but it was frightening. I barely dealt with staff otherwise. I recommend staying elsewhere. The price isn’t good for this quality.
