Eastern Inn & Suites

The ski plans fell through because we're stuck here during the ice storm, but the staff have been so kind about it. They set up a movie night for the kids and organized a group lunch order to help everyone make the best of things. The location is great, and the pool is a decent size and nice and warm. We’ll definitely come back for the service, which has gone way beyond what I expected at this price.

We stayed in the Loft, and it felt modern and beautiful while still having that MWV character. It’s clear the people running it take pride in the place. Families thinking of a getaway up north should give it a try if there’s a room available.

The location was a real plus, with the village within walking distance. We also liked the big common room, especially having a pool table, a TV, and board games to use at the end of the day. Coffee was available in the lobby all the time, and the front desk ladies were nice. There’s also an arcade where you pay to play, plus an indoor pool and workout room, though we didn’t use those. Our kitchenette room let us buy breakfast food and save a bit, and the rate we paid in fall felt fair. The room itself could use an update. Our beds were old and uncomfortable, and there was a musty smell. If you’re mostly using the room to sleep, it may work, unless older beds are a problem for your back. If you expect to spend much of the day in the room, you might want to look at another local place until renovations happen.

Craanmore was our hotel of choice, and we had a great stay. The service was excellent, the amenities were awesome, and the rooms were bigger than the pictures made them look. Management was great too. For a two star place, the pool is one of the best around, and with the brand new hot tub, it’s hard to beat. Definitely five stars from me.
