Super 8 by Wyndham North Little Rock/McCain

The shower room had no exhaust fan, so steam built up, and its door wouldn't close properly for privacy. The leaking shower head lost water at the side of its connection, making showers inconvenient and reducing pressure. For two guests, we got one small tube of conditioning shampoo, one hand soap bar, and one shower soap bar. I don't want to share soap with my travel companion. The towels were scratchy and wouldn't absorb water, and a sheet on one of the queen beds had a stain. The room looked and smelled unclean, far below what I'd expect for $91.99 per night. I was also surprised to pay a USD $60 security deposit on arrival. I was told it would be refunded, but it could take up to five business days to become available again, tying up money while traveling. I've stayed at multiple Super 8 properties and never encountered that deposit before. The lack of basic cleanliness, maintenance, and advertised amenities made the stay uncomfortable and unacceptable for the price.

We were in room #104 after a weekend pickleball tournament at Burns Park, and we also paid for a friend to stay in room #203. His TV had the same problem as ours. Our controller had no back cover and didn't work. Front desk help struggled with it, gave up, and I managed to get one channel using buttons on the TV's side. The vanity towel rack hung from one screw, and when help returned, they didn't have tools to fix it. Two shower access panels had been ripped loose from the wall, letting shower water in. Of the three clothing drawers under the TV, only one had a handle; we had to pull the other two by their screws with our fingernails. We asked for a manager and were told he was “unavailable.” It was a retched stay.

There were plenty of places to eat nearby, and the room was really clean. The front desk clerk was a sweetheart, and the Jacuzzi worked as it should. So far, so great!

There were roaches in the second room they moved us to, room 112, and loud people sat on the stairs laughing all night and waking people up. I checked in Sunday April 12th 2026 to visit family, since the location was central for seeing them. My sister and I were assigned room 214, went out, came back, and went to bed. We woke up to pee all over the bed, which we hadn't noticed the night before. At 5am we went to the office and they moved us, saying the manager would call. I went back to the office twice, and Hope said she'd have them call, but nobody ever did. I asked for a refund and got no response. When I said I was checking out early, they asked why, even though they'd seen exactly WHY. DO NOT STAY HERE. I WILL post this on social media and contact corporate because I can't get a response from the manager and they haven't refunded me for the inconvenience. I will also contact the Arkansas Department of health and file a complaint.
