North Platte Inn & Suites

The room itself was fine, and the kitchenette could be useful for some guests. What bothered me was the breakfast information. The online listing said breakfast was available, and the front office has a noticeable breakfast area, but the desk clerk only told me they no longer offer it after I’d paid. I should have asked first, but the whole thing felt misleading.

There’s no breakfast, and the coffee pot kept shutting off and needs attention. Still, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. It’s a basic motel, but it was nice, clean, and welcoming, with several places to eat within walking distance.

We had a roomy space with plenty of lamps, plus a dining table and two chairs. The towels, toiletries, TV, microwave, full-sized fridge, hot plate with two burners, and sink covered what we needed. The beds and pillows were comfy. It was a little noisy, and we kept hearing a creaky sound before realizing the door wasn’t the cause. The AC made it when it shut off and cooled down, which we ended up laughing about from bed. We picked up cereal to go, so having no breakfast didn’t matter to us.

I was already seven hours away when I realized I’d left a piece of luggage behind, so I called in a panic and explained where it was. The night attendant wouldn’t step outside to check, saying it was probably gone and that he was too busy. He could have looked in the hotel’s back room, but apparently going outside was out of the question. Law enforcement retrieved it just a few minutes later. When a customer is in a crisis, don’t dismiss them like that. Management should fire or retrain this attendant. I won’t be back.
