The Express Inn

You can hear right through the thin walls, and the TV was ancient and full of static. My room looked nothing like the Expedia pictures. The place feels sketchy, and the one thing going for it is the low price. I guess you get what you pay for, $40 a night for a reason.

It’s an okay room, and a place to keep to yourself. But you have to clean it yourself, and the sheets, blankets, and pillows are awful. The toilet seats need replacing too. Other than that, I didn’t see any bugs.

I woke up to a cockroach on one of my kids’ beds. When I turned on the bathroom light, more were scattering. I went to the office and politely asked for a refund, but everyone there got hostile and said I couldn’t get one because I should have reported it during the night, when I found it in the morning. They offered no help when I needed it. The showers have no water pressure, the beds are dirty, and there’s stuff all over the walls. Each time I asked for a refund, they said my name wasn’t on the room and told me to bring in my pregnant girlfriend, who has a broken foot, so they could argue with her and say she couldn’t get a refund either.

There’s no food or drink nearby, and the neighborhood feels sketchy. The place is kind of hard to find, and the room is very bare. The heat works, though, and it’s fine for getting out of the rain while you wait for someone to pick you up.
