Extended Stay America Foxboro Norton

The room was clean, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. It's a cheap place, so you get what you pay for. But the front entrance was gross, with cigarette butts and trash all over the ground. Extended Stay needs to fix up the grounds and make the place look respectable. Even some cheap mulch in winter would make it look 100 times better.

Vinny Risso helped turn a day when everything was going wrong into a much better experience. His shift was over by the time I arrived, but Danny was there and was just as helpful and thorough. I planned to stay a second night, and the room seemed fine until the neighboring room had a really loud dog. They moved me before check-in time and put me in a corner room. They were extremely accommodating. I've stayed at a lot of hotels over 20 years of personal and work travel, both domestically and around the world. This isn't the Ritz Carlton or The Four Seasons, but the service, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate what guests need surpassed what I've received at places like those. I've spent 20 years in this crazy business, and I'd hire these guys any day. I really appreciate them taking a stressful situation and making it positive. These guys deserve a raise and some praise for being such badass people. Cheers.

I suspect there may be black mold in the walls, and I wouldn't risk staying here again. I wasn't sick before arriving, but partway through the second night I woke with a splitting migraine. By morning I was coughing. Once we checked out, the cough went away on the drive home and the migraine started to ease. I think the symptoms were due to black mold. I looked around but couldn't see any. I don't have allergies to many things, but black mold makes me very sick, with the same symptoms each time: migraines and trouble breathing that leads to coughing. The whole hotel smelled bad. I understand they have smoking rooms and allow pets, but it seemed like they weren't using enzyme cleaners. Some spots smelled of urine, and others smelled of cigarette smoke. We had a non-smoking room, yet my pillow and clothes smelled like smoke when we left. The room itself wasn't in great shape. The fridge and bathroom fixtures were rusty, the shower leaked throughout our stay, and the chair had broken springs. The floor didn't feel clean, and I didn't want to walk on it barefoot. At least there weren't bed bugs.

Vinny, Cody, Michelle, Jess, Theo and Danny are all amazing. You can feel their energy as soon as you walk in. They're the kindest hotel staff I've ever met. We love it.
