Econo Lodge Norwalk

For a short stay, I thought it was a decent deal. The room looked dated, and some of the furniture showed wear, so don't expect anything fancy. The staff were really friendly and got me checked in quickly. Breakfast had cereal, waffle mix and a maker, bagels, bread, and coffee or espresso.

I expected very little for $90 and was still disappointed. The beds were covered in hair, including a pubic hair, and I've included photos. The linens were clearly unwashed and stained with all sorts of things, including what looked like blood. That led us to check for bedbugs, though thankfully we didn't find any. When we asked for fresh sheets, the man who came was belligerent, but eventually brought clean linens. We still didn't get clean comforters or blankets. No bedbugs was about the only reason I didn't give this one star and call a health inspector.

Breakfast was so sparse that I went to the McDonald's up the road instead. There was a waffle maker, which I liked, but no butter or syrup, and the bagels had no cream cheese, peanut butter, or butter to go with them. The room wasn't any better: someone else's hair was all through the bed, so the sheets were clearly dirty. One towel had crusty brown stuff on it, and the strong perfume smell seemed like it might be covering up a previous odor. I wouldn't stay again.

The room could use a proper deep clean. Our key card kept failing, so we had to return several times to get it reprogrammed. The bathroom was dim, with a missing bulb. For the price, though, it wasn't terrible.
