Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

We came here because we were desperate during a snowstorm. The bathtub was so gross I wouldn’t bathe my dog in it, and the sheets felt like they were probably 100% polyester. The walls were scuffed and filthy, though the room itself didn’t smell. The hallway reeked of mold and mildew, and the lobby chairs in the dining area were worn, torn, and gross. Front desk staff were less than professional. Hilton shouldn’t have its name attached to this hotel. Only stay if you’re desperate too.

We needed somewhere to stop on the way home from Christmas vacation during a snowstorm. It did the job as a last-minute refuge, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The lobby seats were worn down and flat, and not comfortable. Our room had visibly dirty walls and a big crack in the ceiling. The sheets were extremely hard, and the room felt cold and unwelcoming. The whole property seemed dirty and badly in need of upgrades and better cleaning. The front desk staff seemed unenthusiastic. It worked in an emergency, but I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise.

Plan on driving, since this isn’t a pedestrian-friendly area. Parking is plentiful right by the entrances. The staff are helpful and friendly, but breakfast isn’t included, and lobby coffee is only available until 10 a.m., so plan around that. The soundproofing isn’t great. If you’re making noise, pipe down; if you’re trying to sleep, bring a white noise machine.

The location worked well for visiting family in Bridgeport, and there are plenty of food options nearby, with everything in Norwalk close at hand. The rooms were good and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Chris at the front desk, the bartender, and the morning breakfast cook all gave us great customer service.
