Cheri and Tish were really helpful during our stay, and I appreciated that. The hotel looks very nice, but the room was disappointing. There was no coffee pot, barely any closet space, and no drawers for clothes. It was pretty much just a bed and TV. We’ll most likely stay elsewhere next time.

Krista and the staff are phenomenal, and the main floor feels so welcoming. There’s a beautiful pool table, plenty of quick snack and meal options, breakfast, and a pool. Really beautiful hotel, and I definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting the Des Moines Metro.

I like Tru hotels, and having a pool table here is great. The scrambled eggs were awful, though, maybe because they’re powdered.

The first room was 62 degrees because the AC was stuck on, and the thermostat didn’t work. In the second room, the thermostat worked, but the HVAC was so loud and couldn’t be turned off. The setup is a wall unit with the thermostat across the room. Yes, we knew the control was on the wall, not on the HVAC unit. Overall, the system is very poor.

I had extended my stay, but the general manager told me to leave my room, saying they were sold out when they weren’t. She wouldn’t apologize for lying and instead came up with a bunch of nonsense. She introduced herself by saying she was the general manager, as though that excused it. She needs retraining, if she really is the general manager.
