Comfort Inn Oak Ridge - Knoxville

Dave and the assistant manager were rude, and they wouldn't honor my late checkout request. They eventually offered a different room, but refused to change the rate even after the manager said it should be adjusted and called the original price very high. Dave's solution was to cancel my reservation instead of helping. Avoid this place. There are better choices.

We needed somewhere to stay overnight before surgery the next day. The first room had sewer flies all over the bathroom, though thankfully the staff found us another room. Both bathrooms had plumbing and caulking problems, and the interior doorknobs were very old. The advertised renovation seemed to mean fresh paint and flooring. I wouldn't rate this above 2.5 stars.

The WiFi connection was strong, and the beds were really comfortable. Hot water was fine, though shower pressure seemed to depend on which showerhead you got. Some rooms and bathrooms could use updating. Check-in went well and the staff were friendly. The location is convenient, across from Walmart and close to Oakridge shopping and the movie theater, around 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville and 20 from Windrock.

The room was very clean, and the staff were polite and quick to bring extra towels during our two-night stay. Still, there were several problems. The king bed was so high that at 5 foot 2 I needed a step ladder to climb into it, and from bed I could only see half the TV because it sat on the desk instead of being mounted on the wall. Our room was beside the ice machine, so we heard guests getting ice all night. The water pipe burst while I was trying to shower, and the water was shut off without anyone informing guests. They fixed it quickly, but water continued dripping from the ceiling onto a wall sconce. We were also surprised to find that our card had already been charged, even though we chose to pay at the hotel through booking.com. Staff said booking.com had not noted that we planned to pay on arrival. The only fruit available was apples.
