Residence Inn Tampa Suncoast Parkway at NorthPointe Village

For a long stay, it’s handy having a cooktop and kitchen supplies, and housekeeping does a great job cleaning and resetting the room. The hotel is fine for a Residence Inn. Breakfast gets old fast, though. I was there for two and a half weeks and got sick of it pretty quickly. Luckily there are lots of grocery stores and restaurants a drive away. My main issue is that you can’t walk anywhere. Without a car, food and everything else is pretty limited to the immediate plaza.

The hotel is convenient as hell, but not worth this kind of BS. I’m Titanium and spend over 100 nights a year at Marriott hotels. This place is always empty, yet they never give upgrades. I was fine with that until my last stay, when they downgraded me to an accessible room without saying anything, just handed me the keys to see if I’d notice. At 6'4, I don’t fit in accessible showers, and staying a week like that was a nonstarter. Raising my voice at the desk got me a normal room, and then they somehow found an upgrade. The rooms are dated and not particularly clean, with mold in the bathrooms. They refuse to honor Marriott status or even room reservations. The owners are crappy, and there was no manager on call or manager’s card at the front desk. I’ll be contacting Marriott corporate about this property.

The hotel itself was nice and the other staff were all friendly, but the manager ruined everything. I booked three rooms for a vacation with my adult children. The front desk lady was so nice that I extended my son’s room for two more days with her. On the extension day, a very rude person called me, apparently the manager, asking why my son hadn’t emptied his room and saying they’d throw away all his things. I politely told him I’d extended the stay at the desk. Rather than apologize and say it was a mistake, he kept arguing that it hadn’t been done properly, even though they had my credit card on file and could have fixed their mistake. I won’t stay there again. The manager should learn customer service, maybe from his own staff. Absolutely deplorable behavior.

Margarita at the front desk was beyond amazing. I’m a travel agent, and she was helpful, caring, and polite the whole time I was there. The staff were cleaning the exterior and making sure it looked pristine. Everything looked and smelled beautiful, with classic Christmas decorations. Thank you, Margarita, for making my day and my client’s stay amazing!
