For a night out in the oil fields, there are worse places to stay. It seems clear they’ve stopped putting money into repairs and upgrades, but it’s still fairly clean and a solid place to sleep.

We got a good stay for the $100 a night we paid with our corporate discount, including two pets. It definitely isn’t worth the $499 a night posted on the door in the room. We stayed in room 123 for a week while our semi was at Volvo for emission repairs. Everything worked and was clean, and the owners are a lovely couple. A few things didn’t work well. The microwave had no plate until they replaced it on the second night. The laundry card reader doesn’t work, there’s no free breakfast because they use that area for storage, and the bathroom sink drains slowly. The TV remote was faulty, so we played a little game of “will the TV mute this time on the first try?” The stove still had grime stuck on from previous guests. The kitchenette has no cookware, dinnerware, or dishwashing supplies, so we had to buy those at Walmart. The pet fee was $20 per night. Because we had to renew the room daily for our situation, they charged $20 each night for our pets instead of the maximum amount. There was a slight language barrier with the owners and cleaning staff. We don’t speak Farci (?) at all, or Spanish very well.

The owners, a husband and wife, were okay, and service was good apart from one issue. The room was clean, with a big refrigerator, a newer kitchen area, wood-look floors, and an updated 55in TV and console. The nightstands and tables were old and worn, but I didn’t use them, so it wasn’t a big deal. Everything else was okay, and I’d stay again if I had to. I didn’t see any roaches, hair, or bugs. I vape in the room, and it smells like candy. They tried to keep my $50 deposit, saying I’d smoked and covered it up with spray. I explained I don’t smoke or do drugs, but I do vape, so maybe that’s what confused them. They did refund $25 of my deposit, which is why I’m writing this. I’d cleaned the room, wiped down the bathroom, and piled the dirty towels to make things easier for the maids. I left it in good shape, but was charged $135 total for a stay that wasn’t $135. I wasn’t burning holes in the sheets or trashing the place. I understand their no-smoking rule includes vaping now, and it is their business to set that rule. They may have trouble with guests who smoke or damage rooms, but good customers seem to get treated the same way. You’d think they’d want to treat them better for repeat business. If you need a decent room and don’t have much to spend on a nice hotel, this place isn’t bad. Just don’t expect special treatment because you think you’re a good customer.

I have to give one star just to rate it. Management was horrible. I was visiting town and came to babysit my niece while my brother and sister-in-law were at work. The manager accused me of being a fly-by-night girl who goes in and out of the hotel rooms, even though I don’t live here. He kicked me out and wouldn’t let me get my shoes or allow anyone from the room to call the cops. We called the cops, and I waited, but they didn’t show up, so we called again. I wasn’t going to walk away without shoes. It was evil and unethical. My niece has autism and is very sensitive to sound and numbers, as well as having other issues with autism, and he just kept yelling and yelling. It’s a horrible place to be. If I could report him to anyone, I would.
