We found the room uncomfortable, and we won’t be coming back. The description called it renovated, but it still felt quite dated. There was visible mold in the bathtub and a musty smell that never went away. Used cigarettes and an open, rusty utility knife had been left on the balcony, which felt unsafe and poorly maintained. Guests nearby smoked marijuana throughout our stay, and the smell kept drifting into our room. The pots and pans were sticky and didn’t seem properly cleaned either. You may be happier spending a little more to stay somewhere else.

We had a great midweek stay in the third-floor penthouse and would come back. The indoor pool and hot tub were great, and the property was well maintained. It was peaceful and relaxing. Our balcony was spacious and a nice spot for fresh air, although it faced the back of the hotel and didn’t have the best beach view. Recent renovations are noticeable and appreciated. There are plenty of parking options, and the hotel is in a great location.

The small kitchen was a nice feature, and we love Maine, especially Ogunquit, but the bed made me look forward to going home even though we have one more night. The mattress felt like a board, and the pillows were so stiff they wouldn’t bend. The HVAC was very loud while running and rattled when it shut off. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t stay here again.

The service here is VERY accommodating, among the best we’ve had even compared with nicer hotels in the area. The price is great, and the rooms are reasonably large, some with kitchens. There’s a pool for kids, our room has a deck, and being on the main road makes it easy to get into town. We’ve tried other motels nearby, and this one tends to be the best value for us as timeshare guests. It’s a hotel we’ve gone to for generations, and I have a sentimental attachment to it. I love it, though I can’t give it four stars because of that connection! The rooms are nice, if a little like a time capsule, and not all have been updated. We’ve noticed renovations year by year, but not always in our room. The bathroom was redone recently and is very nice. I’ve also seen some carpets being replaced with wood, though ours hasn’t been done yet. I’m guessing they work on rooms out of season, and I hope they keep taking feedback into account. The beds can make it hard to sleep. The main mattress is feather-filled and much too soft, with little support. When you share it, every movement seems to shift the bed. The pullout has a metal pipe down the middle, making it especially hard to rest on. Since the bathrooms were just renovated, I’m hopeful they’ll update the beds too.

Everything about the stay was enjoyable. It was a great spot for walking the Marginal Way, heading to the beach, and going out to eat or shop.
