While my partner trained for the RORC 600 Caribbean race in Antigua, Boom at Admiral’s Inn & Gunpowder Suites became my favorite place to unwind. I went five times during the week. It turned what might have felt like a long stretch on my own into a trip I'll remember fondly. The day pass costs $115 USD and felt like incredible value. It came with a reserved lounger and umbrella, full pool access, a three-course lunch, and two cocktails. The food and drinks exceeded my expectations. The Gunpowder Margarita quickly became my favorite. The calm infinity pool overlooks the water and never felt overcrowded, so it was easy to really relax there. I also had one of the best spa treatments I've had in a long time, a 90-minute deep tissue massage, exactly what I needed. The service made every visit feel special. Shareen, apologies if I'm spelling that wrong, and her team were warm and attentive.

We couldn't recommend this place after our three-day stay at Admirals in Maine. It was extremely disappointing for what we paid. The accommodation was very expensive, yet we received no housekeeping or basic cleaning at all during our stay. When we checked out and moved our belongings, we found a medication bottle under the bed. A previous guest's personal item left under furniture suggests a serious failure in deep cleaning and hygiene. That was unacceptable and left us questioning the overall sanitation. We raised these problems with the manager on duty at checkout and were met with a rude, dismissive attitude. There was no apology or attempt to address the service and cleanliness issues, which only made our frustration worse. The poor service, high cost, lack of proper cleaning, and management's response made this a very poor value.

A decent three-star hotel. The beds were great, the rooms clean, and both the shower and air conditioning were powerful. Breakfast was alright too: coffee, a bagel with cream cheese, boiled eggs, and granola with yoghurt. The room didn't feel safe, though. The sash windows wouldn't lock, and the screen on one window had come off its frame, leaving an easy way into the room. I slept through the night, but please fix those windows. Guests shouldn't have to feel unsafe.

You're paying for the location here. The rooms smell bad, the coffee maker doesn't work, and there's no phone in the room. Towels feel scratchy, pillows are lumpy, the bed is hard and springy, and the shower feels like needles of water. The air conditioner sits right under the curtains, making it hard to run with them closed. This isn't a three-star hotel to me, more like 1.5 stars, though they charge for three. The staff are extremely rude and surly. It feels like they couldn't care less whether you enjoy your stay and just want to make as much money as possible with as little effort as possible. Guests are treated like products on an assembly line.

The place is clean and has a perfect location, but I was woken around 7:30 on Sunday morning by leaf blowers running full blast. Why schedule that so early on a Sunday? While I was eating breakfast, I watched one of the workers blow leaves all over my car. Nobody asked me to move it. At the front desk, the woman practically shrugged me off and said they hadn't started that early. They had. With so many leaves around, you don't know whether twigs or rocks might hit a vehicle. Luckily, mine wasn't damaged. There was no notice at all. It was inconsiderate to guests. Do better.
